RBC | Money IRL with tinashe

Director/DP | Michael Gauthier

Production company | Salt xc

As both Director of Photography and Director on this project for RBC Bank (Royal Bank of Canada), I filmed an episode of their “Money in Real Life” series, featuring award-winning singer and songwriter Tinashe. This branded documentary-style content highlights financial planning, money lessons, and the personal experiences of influential figures.

Shot in a Los Angeles studio, I designed and executed a three-camera lit interview setup to create a cinematic yet approachable atmosphere. Using RED Komodo cameras paired with Cooke S4 Prime lenses, I was able to achieve natural skin tones and a warm, polished aesthetic that elevated the conversation. The doc-style interview approachmade the audience feel as though they were part of an authentic and insightful discussion.

The production, led by Salt Experiential (Salt XC) and producer Monica Zaffrano, aimed to blend professionalism with intimacy, resulting in branded content that resonates on both a corporate and personal level. This project showcases my expertise as a cinematographer, director, and DP in creating multi-camera interviews, documentary filmmaking, and brand storytelling that connect with viewers.
