Viceroy Los Cabos
Director | Mike Schwartz
Shooting a commercial for Viceroy Los Cabos was one of those rare projects where the location itself becomes the cinematography. Nestled along the Sea of Cortez in Los Cabos, Mexico, Viceroy is a truly one-of-a-kind luxury resort and the visual language of the property made every creative decision feel inevitable.
Working alongside Director Mike Schwartz, we developed a visual strategy rooted in what the resort naturally gives you: stark, architectural white and the deep, saturated blues of the surrounding Pacific waters. Rather than fight that contrast, we leaned all the way into it, letting the color palette drive everything from our shooting angles to our lighting approach to the final color grade. The result is a piece that feels as elevated and refined as the resort itself.
As with most luxury travel and hotel commercial productions, this was a lean, efficient shoot with a small crew moving fast through a stunning property. That intimacy actually works in your favor on jobs like this. It keeps the energy fluid and allows the cinematography to breathe, letting the motion, the light, and the architecture carry the story. Every camera move was designed to feel as effortless as a stay at the property itself.
This commercial is a strong example of luxury hotel cinematography done with intention, where a refined color palette, deliberate camera movement, and an eye for architectural detail come together to communicate the feeling of a destination rather than just its features. If you're a luxury resort, hospitality brand, or travel company looking for a cinematographer who understands how to translate a high-end property into compelling visual content, this is the kind of work I bring to every project.
